Josie Addleton

Josie is the Lexcel Quality Manager for Inspiring Business Performance, and is responsible for the quality of all work carried out by the team of Lexcel assessors. Josie has also been a Lexcel assessor for over 10 years, working with firms of all sizes and also local government in house legal teams. Also the SQM Delivery Partnership Lead Auditor, Josie is responsible for the quality of audits carried out by the SQM Audit Team, and also audits herself. Josie is based near Portsmouth, but has worked with clients all over the country.

Dr. Kate Baker

Kate has many years of experience as a Lexcel Assessor undertaking a range of assessments since the inception of the Lexcel Standard .She is also an auditor for SQM, the standard required to deliver public funding contracts. Kate has a portfolio of over 60 firms of all sizes, from sole practitioners to multi-sited practices, across the UK and Northern Ireland including a number of council in-house legal departments. Kate is also a Lexcel trainer and is currently running workshops on Lexcel version 6. Kate is based in London, but travels all over the UK.

Tania Dunton

Tania is an accredited Law Society, Lexcel Assessor and an accredited Legal Aid Agency, SQM Auditor. She was one of the first individuals to become accredited as an Assessor for Lexcel in June 1998, having been involved with the working party from Investors in People UK and the Lexcel office of The Law Society in reviewing how the Lexcel Standard and Investors in People mapped against each other. Since then she has conducted a significant number of Lexcel assessments for Inspiring across the South East, with firm of all types and size. Tania always receives excellent feedback from the practices she assesses and delivers maximum impact through ensuring that she understands each practices strategic aims and objectives and working practices.

Christopher Gough

Christopher is an accredited Lexcel assessor and consultant. He has worked in law firms or provided consultancy services to them for more than 30 years. He has extensive fee earning experience as a volume residential conveyancer who eventually headed his department and then held a senior position in his firm as Director of Staff and Administration. Christopher also has experience of dealing with IT-related and other law firm management issues as a law firm management consultant in the business services division of a ‘top ten’ accountancy practice.

Karen Horsley

Karen is an accredited and experienced Lexcel and SQM assessor, consultant and trainer. Karen worked as a Lexcel Executive with the Law Society between 2005 and 2009 providing advice and guidance on the Lexcel Standard, whilst managing a portfolio over 300 legal practices. While at the Law Society Karen delivered training to practices, assessors and consultants on elements of Lexcel, such as file reviews and file and case management. Karen was also involved in the revision and development of the Lexcel Standard At the Law Society and developed the Lexcel Client Care Toolkit; now in its 2nd edition,  it has become one of the Law Society’s best selling publications.

Michael Johnson

Michael Johnson, having practised as a solicitor for over 21 years up to 2007, is now an experienced and pragmatic consultant, trainer and assessor for a variety of Quality Marks, including Lexcel, SQM, ISO 9001, LawNet, AQS, and AVN. Michael is also an SRA Accredited External Provider of CPD Courses. Michael operates through his company LexConex Ltd. Michael is based near Cirencester, and carries out assessment projects in particular throughout England & Wales, and overseas. Clients are from a variety of sectors, including Law Firms, Accountants, Charities, Universities, Import & Export companies, IT companies and Energy companies.

Roger Newman

Roger is one of the country’s most experienced Lexcel practitioners, having featured in the first open training session delivered by The Law Society in 1998. Since then, he has worked with a wide range of practices from Top 100 firms, local authorities and corporate in-house departments, to sole traders and niche practices. He has participated in the recent reviews to the Lexcel Standard and also the new Investors in People Standard, with which he has been working since 1991. Roger specialises in practices who hold both Lexcel and Investors in People accreditations.

Steve Owen

Steve is a Lexcel assessor with 25 years’ experience of working with all sizes of law firms from multi-office practices to the sole practitioner. Steve is also a Lexcel consultant, and has helped over 150 firms to prepare for Lexcel assessment.  He also works with the Investors in People, SQM and AQS quality standards. Based in Bedfordshire, Steve concentrates on clients in the southern half of the country.

Neil Partridge

Neil has been a Lexcel assessor and consultant since 2007. He is also an equity-director of 5 businesses, including; legal sector compliance/risk management, corporate change management, marketing implementation, brand strategy and senior level project management for ‘household names’. Neil is also a Founding Member of the City of London Guild of Entrepreneurs. His legal sector experience covers all sizes of legal businesses; from sole practitioners to multi-sited firms, as well as in-house legal teams. In addition to Lexcel, Neil works with other quality standards including SQM, GQM and CSE. Neil is based in Surrey and London, and works with clients all over the country.

Eric Xuereb

Eric is a retired solicitor and senior legal manager with over 30 years’ experience in both private practice and local government.  As a Lexcel assessor he has worked with law firms of all sizes from sole practitioner to multi-sited firms and with local government in-house legal teams.  He is also a Lexcel consultant and a lead auditor for ISO 9001 and has many years’ experience assessing barristers chambers against BARMARK (the Bar Council’s quality standard).  Eric is based in London but has worked with clients all over the country and abroad.
